About us
Born from passion, community & purpose
In the densely populated heart of Korogocho, one of Nairobi’s most under-resourced neighbourhoods, hope is often hard to come by. The community faces daily struggles with poverty, crime, drug abuse, unemployment and limited access to basic education and health services. For many children growing up here, dreams are too often replaced by survival instincts.
Short history
Teds Soccer Academy was founded by Teddy Omondi, a young man raised in Korogocho who personally witnessed how the lack of opportunity affected children – especially boys and girls who had no safe space to go after school. Having played football himself and grown up in a home that valued resilience, Teddy saw the power that sport had to unify, discipline, and inspire. He also understood that a ball alone wasn’t enough – children needed structure, mentorship and love.
What started as a few kids kicking an old ball on dusty roads quickly grew into something larger. With limited resources but limitless commitment, Teddy, Allan, Evans and a small group of volunteers began organizing regular training sessions. They brought structure, teamwork, and mentorship to these children – teaching them to dream bigger, to believe in themselves, and to channel their energy into something positive.
The Academy…
From day one, the Academy welcomed everyone – boys, girls and children living with disabilities. Teds Soccer stood for inclusion, long before it became a buzzword. The vision was clear: every child deserves a chance, regardless of their background or ability.
As the Academy grew, so did its programs. It was no longer just about football. Children came to training hungry, so with the help of One For One a German organization the team introduced the Saturday Porridge Feeding Program, offering not just food, but dignity. They noticed kids struggling in school or lacking a place to study, so a small community library was opened – a humble space filled with donated books and dreams. Girls were missing out due to lack of sanitary pads, so the Sanitary Towels and Safe Talks Initiative was launched. Clean-up days were started to encourage pride in the community. And when tournaments came calling, the children represented Korogocho with pride even traveling to places like Tanzania for the East Africa Cup.
Through every initiative, one principle has remained at the core: this is a family. Teds Soccer is not just a place to play – it’s a place to be seen, to be guided, and to belong.

Our vission
A world where every child – regardless of where they’re born, what they have, or how they move – is seen, valued, and empowered to rise.” At Teds Soccer Academy, we envision a future where football fields replace street corners, books replace boredom and every child becomes a story of possibility.
We dream of Korogocho as a place where potential is louder than poverty and where community is the greatest strength.
Our mission
To use the power of football, education, and radical inclusion to unlock the greatness in every child – one kick, one smile, one story at a time.” We are on a mission to nurture not just athletes, but readers, leaders, protectors and dreamers. We create safe spaces where children are fed, taught, guided, and heard – regardless of their ability, gender, or background.
We believe change doesn’t need to wait – it starts right here, right now, with what we have.
